Resumen

Los efectos conductuales del empoderamiento han sido poco estudiados en la literatura económica general. En este artículo se revisan las investigaciones conductuales recientes que exploran cómo el ejercicio del poder puede cambiar el patrón de comportamiento de los individuos en organizaciones y empresas, con consecuencias de primer orden para su desempeño. Mientras que en algunos entornos el poder puede aumentar la confianza, el optimismo y la creatividad de las personas empoderadas, simultáneamente puede genera una disposición relevante para mantenerlo a un alto coste personal que incluso conlleve un nivel subóptimo en la delegación de tareas.
