Abstract

The different elements that compose the furniture industry have changed substantially in the last ten years. The problem is that day by day events disguise and hinder from seeing the importance of those changes. It’s more a crisis of business model than of market. Above all, we must know that business is becoming more and more global, interdependent and vulnerable, faced with any change of the scene. According to this, in a context like that, the furniture industry SME has to negotiate its limited resources. It is a scale problem. Once analysed the furniture sector situation and after visualizing which are the future challenges, this article tries to describe which should be the motor of the furniture production company’s change and the strategic basis of the change. As well, this article reflects on the different concepts that will form the new business model in the furniture production business.
