Zusammenfassung

The COVID-19 pandemic, declared by the WHO as a public health emergency in March 2020, triggered an unprecedented crisis in the events and incentive travel sector, revealing its interconnectedness with other economic sectors. Despite the economic downturn, the sector demonstrated remarkable cohesion and associative leadership, driving political claims and proposing solutions. Incentive travel, significantly affected, faced financial challenges in companies and global movement restrictions due to diverse health approaches. The pandemic foreshadowed a new labor and social paradigm, with permanent changes in customs and processes. While there were business advantages, such as cost savings, challenges like decentralization and workplace isolation also emerged. This contribution analyzes the events sector's response, specifically incentive travel, to the pandemic, highlighting sustainable changes such as technological integration and the exploration of new outdoor venues.
